Effect of magnetic stirring on AlFeSi intermetalics of an A356 aluminum alloy

چکیده

The effect of the application forced convection during continuous solidification A356 aluminum alloy over microstructural parameters AlFeSi phases has been presented in this work. investigation made on fact that as an solidifies under action a rotating magnetic field; non-dendritic casting structure will be obtained. Al-Si studied using stirring equipment with permanent magnets. This device allowed study rotational speed (degree stirring) micro- and macro- structure. Different analyses tests have carried out, such macro-structural analysis. results shown affects cooling curves, expanding range. Microstructural evolution alloys also observed, from 100% dendritic to mature rosette type structure, addition notable grain size decrease, which may improve material’s mechanical behavior. show all (quantity, size, shape factor, particle area, aspect ratio) decrease when is applied its solidification.
